What You Need Checked For Long Road Trips

Local, affordable and happy to help

Are you going on a long road trip soon? Or maybe moving? Or going back home after an extended stay in Wellington for the equestrian festivities?

Did you know that towing a trailer makes long distance driving all the more reason to have your car checked before you start your trip? You really should have it check out beforehand because the last thing you want is to get stuck on the side of the road.

Checklist:
  • tire pressure
  • tire tread (check spare tire too)
  • engine oil level
  • automatic transmission fluid
  • coolant levels
  • wiper blades
  • head and tail lights
  • washer fluid
  • strut alignment
  • belts and steering components
  • jumper cables
Something as small as a flat tire can slow down your ETA to your destination and be a minor inconvenience you can just patch up. However, a serious engine issue or a cracked belt can leave you stuck for a day or two. Either possibilities can both be mostly preventable.

For the families that will be traveling during the summer or holidays we always like to give your car a quick inspection. Or even for those that come down from Illinois or Kentucky for the equestrian festivities every year, we are happy to look over your trucks, trailers and inspect the whole fleet. Safety isn't just being careful. It's being proactive.

Come in to Bill Tyson's Auto Repair today in either Royal Palm Beach or Wellington. Our mechanics are happy to get you back on the road quickly and safely.
